Previous Knowledge
Students should already know that:
· Living things need water to stay alive.
· Plants are living things.
· All living things grow.
Specific Objectives /Learning outcomes:
At the end of the lesson students will be able to:
- Understand that some plants are grown from seeds.
- Draw the first stage of a plant.
- Recognize the importance of a seed.
Materials/Resources:
Seeds, containers, soil, tissues, an adult plant
Introduction:
Set induction: Teacher brings an adult plant into the classroom showing the students her plant that she grew from a seed.
Introduction: Teacher tells her students that today’s lesson will be about plants, we are going to see how this little seed will grow into a big plant like this.

Teacher will ask students:

Closure:
Teacher applaud students and informs them that they must take their plant home and write in their journal every day and take pictures to show the plants progress. Teacher also reminds students that one plant should be in a dark area and another in an area with enough sunlight.
